Help us help
Bellingham Public Schools families
What your donation means to families--
--a bus pass for a mom with a new job but no car
--a pair of shoes for a child with new orthotics
--kitchen starter kits for newly housed families so they can cook meals for their children
--tall rubber boots required for a dad's new job at the docks
--a bike helmet so a teen can safely ride to school
--emergency housing at a hotel until local housing agency support kicks in
--gift cards to laundromats and gas stations for our teens experiencing homelessness
--beds and bedding so each family member has a warm place to sleep
--personal care items such as laundry and dish soap, deodorant, diapers, toothbrushes+ for families in our school district
The FRC staff get to know each family and let us know what is needed. Help us make sure every need is filled.
Our all-volunteer group formed at the beginning of the 2017-2018
school year and continues to put 100% of donations toward
the needs of families.
The Mission of the Friends of the Family Resource Center is to support the Bellingham Public Schools' Family Resource Centers’ efforts to address students’ and their families’ unmet basic needs by raising funds, procuring resources, increasing public awareness, and building connections across the community.
“Not everyone realizes that issues related to poverty are present at all schools across our district. Many people are shocked to learn of the challenges people within their own schools face. Once people hear personal stories of families struggling here in our own district, the community’s response is overwhelmingly generous. So one very important piece of our work is community education.”
